A Fond Musical Farewell with Diane Taraz

Join historical musical sensation Diane Taraz to celebrate the spirit of life and memories of friends. She will be performing her Fond Farewell musical program for Memorial Day, consisting of classical and original songs on guitar and dulcimer. The program will include Over the Rainbow, Wayfaring Stranger, Amazing Grace, Will the Circle be Unbroken and many more. Diane has provided music for sponsored events and recorded CDs, produced 20 solo CDs, 6 CDs with groups and 4 singles. Sponsored by the Cummings Foundation.

Faculty Concert - The Sempervirens Ensemble

Let's Make Arrangements
Please join us for the first Faculty Concert of 2024-2025, featuring the Sempervirens Ensemble. Four virtuoso recorder players (Heloise Degrugillier, Dan Meyers, Emily O'Brien, and Roy Sansom) will present a program which comprises music from the 14th century to this year.
Works will include Baroque keyboard pieces, a medieval Estampie, one of Ligeti's Bagatelles for Wind Quintet, the scherzo from Mendelssohn's A Midsummer Night's Dream, a short piano prelude by Prokofiev, and more. The members of the ensemble felt they simply had to create arrangements to play these

Faculty Concert: At the Movies

Immerse yourself in a world of beautiful, passionate, and emotional movie music, skillfully arranged for violin, piano, and percussion. Experience iconic themes from beloved movies like Cinema Paradiso, The Secret Garden, Schindler's List, Malèna, Once Upon a Time in the West, The Mission, The Deer Hunter, Howl's Moving Castle, and more. We'll also explore the enchanting compositions of celebrated actor and composer Anthony Hopkins, including And the Waltz Goes On.

Faculty Concert: Harmonious Heights with the Zefíra Trio

Please join WCMS for its second faculty concert of the season, featuring the Zefíra Trio: Olga Patramanska-Bell, violin; Ashima Scripp, cello; and Eleanor Perrone, piano. The members of the Zefíra Trio have established themselves as solo artists and chamber musicians of the highest standard. They are top prize winners of many national and international competitions and appear often as soloists with orchestras or in major recital halls across the country. They seek to engage their audiences with the artistry and depth of their performances as well as lively, informative comments on the music

Faculty Concert: Romancing the Winds

Come enjoy two exquisite and romantic chamber pieces performed by a woodwind quintet with piano, a rare combination in chamber music. The first half of the program will consist of a beautiful wind chamber piece by Mozart, Quintet for Winds and Piano in E flat major, K452. The second half will feature Beethoven's Quintet for Piano and Winds in E-flat Major, Op. 16. Faculty performers and special guests will include Kyoko Hida-Battaglia, oboe; Glenn Dickson, clarinet; Dr. Jacky Ho-Yin Li, French horn; Sally Merriman, bassoon; and Dr. Sarah Tocco, piano.

Please join us for the Boston Saxophone Quartet (BSQ), a unique blend of musicians with an impressive range of repertoire on saxophone, flute, clarinet, and bassoon.

Distinguished members of the BSQ - Jim Repa, Lou Stamas, Peter Cokkinias, Bob Chadwick - have performed with the Boston Pops and Boston Symphony Orchestra and leading Broadway theaters throughout New England. The BSQ offers a wide repertoire: Swing
