A Fond Musical Farewell with Diane Taraz

Join historical musical sensation Diane Taraz to celebrate the spirit of life and memories of friends. She will be performing her Fond Farewell musical program for Memorial Day, consisting of classical and original songs on guitar and dulcimer. The program will include Over the Rainbow, Wayfaring Stranger, Amazing Grace, Will the Circle be Unbroken and many more. Diane has provided music for sponsored events and recorded CDs, produced 20 solo CDs, 6 CDs with groups and 4 singles. Sponsored by the Cummings Foundation.

Bluegrass and Bourbon

We hope you can join us for Bluegrass and Bourbon XIII featuring Love Canon. There will be snacks and cocktails and general rowdy revelry.
Bourbon begins at 6:30 and bluegrass begins at 7:00. There's a $30/person suggested donation. All proceeds to benefit Club Passim.

Faculty Concert: At the Movies

Immerse yourself in a world of beautiful, passionate, and emotional movie music, skillfully arranged for violin, piano, and percussion. Experience iconic themes from beloved movies like Cinema Paradiso, The Secret Garden, Schindler's List, Malèna, Once Upon a Time in the West, The Mission, The Deer Hunter, Howl's Moving Castle, and more. We'll also explore the enchanting compositions of celebrated actor and composer Anthony Hopkins, including And the Waltz Goes On.
Performed by WCMS teaching artist Jorge Ibáñez, piano, with Luis Ibáñez, violin, and Deborah Welsh Ibáñez, percussion.

Faculty Concert: Fiddle Traditions

A Celebration of Toe-Tapping Fiddle Tunes
WCMS faculty member Molly Tucker and guest artist Casey Murray will present a concert of original and traditional fiddle tunes in the New England, Celtic, and Old Time styles. As dance musicians, they will share toe-tapping tunes that inspire movement and joy, in addition to songs they love and original compositions.
Free admission--all are welcome. A $20 suggested donation supports our concerts and performers. Held live in Nichols Performance Hall at WCMS and streamed live on our YouTube and Facebook channels.

Family Concert: Brazilian Serenade

Join WCMS for a family-friendly afternoon program of Brazilian choro music from the 1940s and 50s, performed by a talented trio of musicians. Experience the soulful rhythms that inspired the Bossa Nova, along with captivating original compositions.

Family Concert: En Tu Órbita featuring Sol y Canto

Sol y Canto is the award-winning Pan-Latin ensemble led by Puerto Rican/Argentine singer and percussionist Rosi Amador and New Mexican guitarist and composer Brian Amador. Featuring Rosi's crystalline voice and Brian's lush Spanish guitar and inventive compositions, Sol y Canto is known for making their music accessible to Spanish and non-Spanish speaking audiences of all ages. Rosi and Brian are joined by cellist/vocalist Queralt Giralt Soler from Barcelona who, along with her spectacular cello playing, adds her voice to the group's intricate vocal harmonies.

Family Farm Night: Dandelion

Dandelion plays folk-inspired children's music.

You bring the picnic and your favorite non-alcoholic drinks. We’ll have live music, a cash bar for the adults, plus snacks for everyone from Farm to Go (popsicles, popcorn, and so much more). Bring a blanket or some lawn chairs and settle back to enjoy the show! Doors open at 5:30, music goes until 7:00.

Lunchtime Faculty Concert: Sentimental Journey

This first-of-its-kind WCMS faculty concert will bring the audience on a Sentimental Journey across generations of jazz, Broadway and popular music.
Music therapist and singer Shayla McDermott will weave in stories from her work as a music therapist with older adults. She will be joined by her partner and esteemed jazz pianist, Jonathan Fagan, along with Max Ridley on bass and Austin McMahon on drums.

Music in the Sanctuary: Cynthia MacLeod with Gordon Belsher

Our final concert in the series is scheduled for SATURDAY (not our usual Friday concert night), May 10th, and features fiddler Cynthia MacLeod and guitarist, Gordon Belsher, both from Prince Edward Island.
