MusicFest Open House

WCMS has a wonderful building full of musical instruments--and once a year, you can come meet them all! Our annual MusicFest is free and fun for all ages. This event features a school-wide instrument petting zoo, live demos, a scavenger hunt with prizes, and a fun opportunity to explore our building and meet the instruments. Faculty members and current WCMS students will show you what makes each instrument unique and fun.
Faculty and staff will be available to answer questions about group classes, ensembles, and private lessons for kids, teens, and adults. We are also holding auditions for

Winchester Community Music School's annual MusicFest is free and fun for all ages! This musical open house features a school-wide instrument petting zoo, instrument demos, a scavenger hunt with prizes, and more. You can try playing everything from a child-sized violin to a booming timpani drum with the help of current WCMS faculty and students. It's like a musical maze--fill in your scavenger hunt card and win a prize! We'll also be holding placement auditions during MusicFest for a wide range of bands and ensembles - all genres, all ages (kids, teens, and adults). Plus, students of all ages

My Grandma's Legacy from Like Water for Chocolate Story and Recipes

This is the beginning of the saga, when you will learn how Abuela Angela meets the love of her life, conquers his heart with food, and leaves a legacy to her oldest granddaughter. After narration, we will share a simple Grandma's recipe, and feel free to bring and share your own recipes and end the program dancing! Sponsored by the Cummings Foundation Grant.

Navy Blue and Khaki Brown: Women's Military Uniforms of WWII with Mel Bloom

Mel Bloom is an Air Force veteran and highly rated educational speaker with 3+ years of experience in public history with a focus on women's topics. She has a B.S. in Architectural, a March, and a M.S. in Historic Preservation. She launched 3-5-0 Girls in 2022 to tell the stories of women who served. This special event will showcase several uniforms of the women who served in the Marine Corps, Navy, Army, and Coast Guard followed by a lecture about the different uniforms, who wore them, and why it mattered.
