Want to know what music classes are like at Winchester Community Music School? Free demos of selected classes are being offered during the first week of September. Come try a class and meet the teachers before fall semester begins on September 8. We offer classes for toddlers, kids, teens, and adults. Meet the teacher, see what the class is like, and explore what the fall semester at WCMS has to offer. See the full schedule and RSVP to reserve your spot in the demo class you're interested in. The Winchester Coalition for a Safer Community presents Understanding Relationships: Recognizing Unhealthy Patterns and Fostering Healthy Connections, 7:00 p.m. at the Winchester Public Library, Large Meeting Room. Join us for an evening with Meredith Shaw and Ali Calnan from Melrose Alliance Against Violence (MAAV) where we will talk about how to help our young people develop crucial skills to build healthy, respectful, trusted relationships. This workshop explores what tools kids need to build and sustain healthy relationships and how parents/caregivers can support them. We'll touch on

Understanding the Black & White Negative with Nick Johnson

This critique-based workshop is for photographers who already develop black-and-white film and have access to a working darkroom. The class focuses on how exposure, development, and metering decisions affect the quality and flexibility of black-and-white negatives, and how those choices shape the final print. We will also focus on how to advance the students' print making skills.

Using student work as the primary teaching tool, the course combines group critique with targeted technical discussion. While some concepts draw from principles associated with the Zone System, this is not a Zone
