Stories from A Yellow Rose Project Photographers (Online Presentations)

The Griffin Museum is pleased to present an online evening of presentations featuring artists from A Yellow Rose Project: Sheri Lynn Behr, Tsar Fedorsky, Marina Font, Ashley Kauschinger, Molly Lamb, and Rachel Phillips. Each artist will share 20 slides, speaking for just 20 seconds per slide, offering quick, intimate glimpses into their work in under seven minutes.

Story Jams: Multigenerational Improv Workshop

Calling musical story lovers of all ages! This one-hour, multigenerational workshop will give participants the chance to create their own incidental music to go along with AI-generated stories, all facilitated by piano faculty member Peter Morelli.
Peter will teach participants ways to improvise incidental music to accompany the various stories. Each story will also feature an opportunity for one participant to play a short piece they have prepared ahead of time.
Open to musicians ages 6 through adult.
Participants should prepare a short piece to play as part of the workshop.

Strawberry Pops

An annual end-of-year celebration of the Winchester HS music program, sponsored by the  WHS Music Department and Friends of Music. Featuring performances by the WHS Band, Strings and Chorus. Strawberry shortcake served at 6 pm, program begins at 6:30 pm. Join us for terrific music and delicious dessert! All are welcome, free admission; donations are appreciated.

String Department Workshop: Fiddling with Molly Tucker

Are you a string player who is curious about the art of fiddling? Whether you're brand new to fiddling or have explored this art form before, this workshop is for you! In this 90-minute session, WCMS teaching artist Molly Tucker will lead participants through learning a fiddle tune and exploring what styling can make your playing sound like fiddle playing. The group will also explore chordal and rhythmic ideas to bring the tune to life in their own way.
This workshop is open to all intermediate-to-advanced string players. Participants should be able to play two-octave G and A Major scales

String Dept. Improv Workshop

Are you a string player who wants to expand your creativity and comfort with improvising? In this 90-mintue workshop, WCMS teaching artist and jazz bassist extraordinaire Mark Pucci will walk participants through the basics of improvising over both blues forms and standard forms. For intermediate string players ages 12+. Advance registration required; $15 fee. After signing up, participants will receive materials to prepare in advance of the workshop. String Honors Concert

Join us for a special concert featuring selected students from the WCMS String Department, as we recognize and celebrate the accomplishments of some of our most talented and dedicated string students.
This concert will be presented both live in Nichols Performance Hall and via livestream on the WCMS YouTube channel.

Sugaring @ Wright-Locke Farm

Elementary School Kids and their families, join us at Wright-Locke Farm for a lesson on sugaring! We'll learn how tree sap becomes maple syrup, and enjoy an easy guided walk around the farm property . Registration is required!
