Level Up: Board Games for Grades 1-2

Join us to learn a new board game or play an old favorite. Simply drop in and librarians will be available to set up a group of players and teach the rules if needed. Games that will be available include: My First Carcassone, Outfoxed, and Catan Junior, plus more! For kids rising into grades 1st and 2nd, no registration required.

This presentation by Joe Malone will focus on the American actress and singer who rose to fame in the 1950’s and 1960’s. Learn how her movie and music career led her to receive several prestigious awards.

Light, Legacy & the Lumen: A Workshop with A Yellow Rose Project

A Yellow Rose Project founders and participants invite you to join us for a one-day, in-person workshop at the Griffin Museum, where you will harness light and material to create unique photographic prints using the lumen print technique and the 19th Amendment as inspiration for subject matter.

Two weeks prior to the workshop participants will receive an invitation email with warm up writing prompts as well as directives to thoughtfully gather personal objects to make one of a kind prints.

On the day, you will be given a short lecture on A Yellow Rose Project and we will talk about

Lindsay Foote Concert

Winchester native Lindsay Foote returns to Wright-Locke Farm with music combining folk traditions, contemporary pop, and Americana. Lindsay’s music has been featured on CBS and recognized in several national songwriting competitions. Tickets $40/$25/$50 (tiered).

Linocut Printmaking

Learn the basics of linocut printmaking. The class will cover techniques in carving linoleum, composition, ink mixing, and printing. At their own pace, students will learn how to create a design and carve it in linoleum using carving tools. Students will learn how to ink and print their linoleum blocks by hand.
