We are pleased to host the talented lens based artist and bookmaker Laila Nahar online in the Griffin Zoom Room on Tuesday September 9th at 2pm Eastern / 11am Pacific for a conversation about creativity and book making. Nahar's stunning hand crafted books are in the collection of the Griffin Museum library. She will discuss her path as a photographer, and as a bookmaker and how her background shaped her artistic journey. Nahar will talk about her book-making process featuring a selection of books.

Come and learn about the Mystic Link Trail project, an exciting new trail that runs between Andover and Boston through Winchester, highlighting green spaces that are historically, culturally, or recreationally interesting. This trail is a spur of the 230-mile Bay Circuit Trail that arcs around the city of Boston from Newburyport to Duxbury.
Experiment with alcohol inks on special non-porous paper and make unique greeting cards. Alcohol inks are quick-drying, transparent inks that create a sophisticated marble effect-- no expertise required!Note: Alcohol inks will stain clothing. Please wear old clothes or bring a smock or apron.
We will be learning how to hand sew a pillow in this program. Skills learned will include threading a needle, stitching, and closing a stuffed item. Finished product will have your first initial on the front! When registering, please indicate color preference for initials and pillow.
