Authentic Selves: Celebrating Trans and Nonbinary People and their Families June 1 – 9, 2024

Live in-person from the stunning Ripley Chapel at First Congregational Church, Winchester.

Celebrate pride through beautiful, empowering, first-hand accounts of trans, nonbinary, and gender-fluid experiences. From Massachusetts-based Family Diversity Projects, this exhibit uses stunning photography and rich stories to challenge damaging myths and stereotypes about trans and nonbinary people, educate people about these communities, and help make the world a safer, more connected, and more empathetic place.

Back-to-School à la Nouvelle

Nouvelle Maison, Winchester's destination for great coffee, fine provisions, wine and community events, is excited to announce its first-ever Back to School à la Nouvelle Tasting Extravaganza on Thursday, September 4th, from 3-6pm.

This special event celebrates la rentrée, the return to routines and the excitement of a new season. We'll have something for everyone:
- Two wine-tasting stations featuring 8+ weeknight wines to sip, savor and discover
- A non-alcoholic tasting station featuring non-alcoholic wines and our new spirits alternative, Abstinence Spirits
- Kids' table with fresh

Blessing of the Animals

Please join us for our annual Blessing of the Animals, outdoors, under the tent in front of our church at 34 Dix Street, Winchester, MA, on Sunday, October 5, at 10am. We will have animal-themed music and have individual blessings for every pet who comes. We will give thanks for our animal companions, honor animals that serve in public safety and wellness, and celebrate those who have taken on the difficult work of animal rescue, shelter, and care. All are welcome (people and animals), so please join us and bring your critters, big or small. If you can control it, you can bring it.

Candidates Meet & Mingle at Kyuramen

Please join us to meet the candidates in the local election on March 22nd.  There will be complementary light appetizers and a cash bar. All candidates for contested elections, and others running uncontested, are welcome!

This event is intended as an informal counterpart to the candidate debates hosted by the League of Women Voters on March 5 and 6, and is a new take on the "candidate breakfast" that the Chamber has hosted for several years.

Cheese Meets Beer: Oktoberfest at Lord Hobo

Join us for a festive evening of beer, cheese and community. The night begins with a behind-the-scenes brewery tour led by Chris Welch, GM of Lord Hobo, where you'll get an insider's look at how their craft beers come to life.

After the tour, settle in for a guided tasting led by Liz Clarke and Mira Stella, Nouvelle Maison's resident Cheese and Beer Managers. They will walk you through a hand-picked selection of artisan cheeses matched with Lord Hobo's brews. You'll learn the secrets of pairing bold beers with rich cheeses, and discover new favorites for the Fall.

Choral Arts New England Names Jane Ring Frank as 2025 Lifetime Achievement Award Winner

First Congregational Church is pleased to present the Choral Arts New England 2025 Lifetime Achievement Award Ceremony and its latest recipient, our Minister of Worship and the Arts Jane Ring Frank. This free event will honor Ms. Frank's 35-year contribution to choral music in New England. The ceremony will feature a brief performance by Concord Women's Chorus with Ms. Frank conducting, as well as an opportunity for the audience to sing Bach's Dona Nobis Pacem, from the Mass in B minor.

Civic Leadership Award Presentation

The Winchester League of Women Voters is pleased to announce that M. Joyce Westner will receive the League’s 2025 Civic Leadership Award. Light refreshments will be provided

For many years Joyce has provided tremendous service and leadership to Winchester. She has been instrumental in a wide range of civic projects, including working to save Wright-Locke Farm, multiple Cultural District projects, and launching the community's online Winchester News. Joyce also served on multiple Town Committees and as a Town Meeting member for many years, well deserving of the League’s Civic Leadership
