Winchester Aberjona Clean Up Day

The Winchester Conservation Commission is sponsoring its annual event to improve the habitat, environment and water quality along the Aberjona. We’re organizing it a little differently this year and we’d love to have you join us!

Pick up litter and/or cut back and remove invasives (bittersweet, knotweed, etc. )

4 locations between 9AM - 12PM

  1. Judkins Pond - Meet/join at Griffin Museum parking lot
  2. Behind Stop and Shop - Meet/join at parking lot on the east side of Stop and Shop
  3. Elliot Park - Meet/join at Elliot Park near Wedge Pond
  4. Train tracks near Winchester High School Playing Fields (Ciarcia

Winchester Invasive Plant Clean-Up

Join in this annual event to improve town wetlands and wildlife habitats by cutting back and removing invasives such as bittersweet and knotweed. Activities focus on two areas:

  • Judkins Pond, starting at the Griffin Museum parking lot
  • Borgaard Beach, off Palmer Street between the housing development and the tennis courts

All are welcome. Wear clothing that covers your legs, feet, and arms. Bring your own pruners/loppers and work gloves (a few tools will be available at the site).

Winchester Porchfest

Come on out for an afternoon of community music at Winchester Porchfest!
Last year there were over 20 venues for live performances throughout Winchester, from driveways to porches to the Town Common. This year's map and schedule of performers will be published a few days before the event on the Winchester Porchfest website. Rain date: Sunday, June 9.
Here at WCMS, we will be hosting non-stop music from 12:00-5:15 PM:

12:00-1:00 PM: WCMS Jazz Ensembles
1:15-1:45 PM: WCMS Village Band
2:00-2:45 PM: Jillian Ann Barrows (singer/songwriter and keyboard) with Sam Oderman (acoustic guitar)
