Winchester artist, Kiyomi Yatsuhashi will lead this one-day workshop on the Japanese craft of shibori and indigo dyeing. She will start with a brief introduction to Japanese textile resist dyeing. Demonstrations and practice will include shibori resist techniques such as binding, folding, wrapping, and clamping to create dyed patterns. You'll bring home indigo dyed unfinished cotton pieces that can be used for a quilt, wall hanging, table scarf, or napkin.

This class builds upon skills gained in Shibori Indigo Dyeing (Level 1)*. In this workshop, Kiyomi will review basic processes and introduce two specific techniques: stitch shibori and pole wrapping. Students will dive right in, choosing to practice one or both techniques.
You'll bring home indigo dyed unfinished cotton pieces that can be used for a quilt, wall hanging, table scarf, or napkin.
