Griffin Terrace Series | School of HONK!!

The Griffin Museum and Winchester Cultural District are excited to welcome the School of Honk to Winchester! Join us on the Griffin Terrace for a warm up session and march over to the Winchester Common for an afternoon of a blast of brass! Bring your brass instrument to the party and play with the band as music fills downtown Winchester.

Be at the Griffin Museum Sunday August 24th starting at 2.30pm. Meet other Honkers, warm up and play on our Griffin Rotary Terrace until 4pm then march down Shore Road to Winchester Common for a performance on the Green.

The Griffin Museum in partnership with the Winchester Cultural District is pleased to present an afternoon of Shakespeare with the The World's A Stage Players, performing a revue of famous, and not so famous, Shakespeare scenes and monologues, loosely organized around the eras of his life and career. The Griffin will celebrate it members in NYC in our first of many meetups across the country in 2026! We are so pleased to support the SOHO exhibition featuring Griffin Member artists Laura Dodson, Kathleen Holloway, Gordon Saperia, Laurie Peek, Beth Galton alongside SOHO Photo members Bob Leonard & Nathalie Rubens on the night of the event.

Guitar Clinic with Hayes Griffin

Right Hand Mechanics: Guitar Clinic with Hayes Griffin
This 90-minute workshop is for any guitarist who wants to gain better control and fluency in flat-pick playing. Guest clinician Hayes Griffin will help participants to:
• Better control your picking hand
• Gain control when playing awkward string skips
• Gain fluidity at a variety of tempos
• Build techniques for better tone
• Learn how to practice to affirm good picking technique
Open to intermediate and advanced guitar players ages 13+. Please bring your guitar and a flat pick!
Free for WCMS students; $15 for the general public

Halloween Pick-up Band for Winchester's Trunk or Treat

We're looking for woodwind, brass, percussion, ukulele, guitar, bass and other instrumentalists to play spooky themed music to kick off this fun town-wide event. No marching is required - we'll play standing in place. Costumes are welcome. This event takes place in the Jenks Center parking lot, across from Town Hall. We'll meet at 10:00 AM in the parking lot for a quick run through rehearsal and play at 10:30 AM. Pick up your music parts in the front office once you've signed up to perform.

Build a maze for your Hexbug to navigate, maybe challenge your friends to a race, or just see which Hexbug is the most agile. Materials will be supplied. For kids rising into grades 2-5.
